TURNER - Chester O McClung, 63, 5958 Stayton Rd SE, died Sunday in a Salem hospital following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Oklahoma and lived in the Turner area for 28 years. He was a merchant patrol with the National Security Patrol in Stayton and worked for several security patrols in Salem. He was a member of Latter-Day Saints Church, Stayton Ward.

Survivors include wife, Jewell; daughter, Mary N. Schwartz, Salem; sons, Jerry M., Shaw, Norman W., Terrebonne, and Rick, Salem; sister, Fern Brown, Lincoln City; five grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Latter-Day Saints Church, Stayton Ward. Burial will be in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Diabetic Association.

Chester married Jewell Fannie FARRELL on 7 Feb 1938 in Concoran, Kings Co, California, USA. Jewell was born on 8 Jan 1921 in Tahlequah, , Oklahoma, USA, died on 24 Mar 1992 in Keizer, Marion Co, Oregon, USA at age 71, and was buried in Stayton (Lone Oak Cem), Marion Co, Oregon, USA. KEIZER - Services for Jewell Fannie McClung, 71, who died Tuesday in Salem, will begin at 2 p.m. Friday in the Family Worship Center.

Interment will be in Lone Oak Cemetery in Stayton. Visiting will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to noon Friday in Keizer mortuary.

She was born in Tahlequah, Okla.

Her husband Chester O. McClung, died in 1980.

She had worked as a nurse's aide, and operated a foster care home for the mentally distabled.

She was a member of the Family Worship Center in Keizer.

Survivors include her sons, Jerry of Salem, Glen of Oregon City and Norman of Oklahoma; daughter, Nadira Miller of Keizer; mother, Goldie M. InAbbnit of Lemoore, Calif.; brothers, John, Homer and Lloyd Ferrell, all of Kingsburg, Calif.; and 12 grandchildren.

Directions to cemetery:
Exit Interstate 5 on the south end of Salem Go east on Highway 22. Take the second Stayton exit (Cascade Highway). Go a few blocks to the stop light at East Fern Ridge Rd. Turn left. Go a block or two. The cemetery is on the right.

There are also several old burials of Browns and Englishes, but it is unknown if they are related.

If you enter through the arch you are in the 1st section. Go straight ahead. The roads seem to divide the sections. Go to section four. It is the last section except for a very narrow area in front of the hedges.
