On 31 May 1910 at Tucumcari, Quay Co, New Mexico Joseph married Sophia Winifred "Winnie" MORGAN, daughter of James Childs MORGAN and Ella FAUGHT. Winnie was born 20 Mar 1893 at Tahlaquah, Indian Territory, Oklahoma and died 17 Mar 1969 at Tulare, Tulare Co, California.
• Joseph and Winnie's first child, Parker Aurora DORAN was born 2 Nov 1911 at San Jon.
• A daughter, Florence Flora DORAN was stillborn on 10 Oct 1913 at Lubbock, Texas as a result of a vehicle accident .
• Andrew James DORAN was born 29 Dec 1914 at Ardmore, Carter Co, Oklahoma.
• Bethel Enoch DORAN was born 16 Jan 1918 at Alex, Grady Co, Oklahoma.
• Joel Amos DORAN, was born 9 Mar 1920 at Long Island, Jackson Co, Alabama.

In addition, the 1930 census lists Henry DORAN, age 1, born Arizona as a son of Joseph and Winnie. Nothing more has been found about Henry. All surviving children of Joseph and Winnie were sons. Winnie gave her children names from the bible.
As required, Joseph registered for the World War 1 draft at Alex, Grady Co, Oklahoma on 12 Sep 1918. Name: Joseph Andrew Doran; Residence: Alex, Grady Co, Okla; age 33; born Feb 13 1885, white, US citizen; farmer; employer-Self; nearest relative: Sofa Winnie Doran, Alex, Grady Okla; Medium height; medium build; blue eyes; brown hair. The registration on 12 Sept 1918, was for men aged eighteen to twenty-one and thirty-one to forty-five—men born between 11 Sept 1872 and 12 Sept 1900. Although he registered there is no evidence he served.
I have not located a 1920 census enumerating Joseph and Winnie. However, Joel Amos DORAN, was born 9 Mar 1920 at Long Island, Jackson Co, Alabama. Perhaps they were in transit and not recorded in any census for that year.
In 1930 Joseph, Winnie and their children are enumerated on the census at Somerton, Yuma Co, Arizona. Their address was 14th St between C and D Ave. See 1930 Census Report
On 2 Nov 1934 the Elk City News at Elk City Oklahoma published the obituary of Joseph's father Mathias. It lists the residence of Joseph as Sommerton Arizona.
